About Me

My name is Raymond Ostfeld and I am excited to teach at West Greene High School.

 

I am originally from the New York City metropolitan area. I have lived in New York city, Boston, Minneapolis, Southern Minnesota, and Somerset Kentucky. This year will be my 20th year of teaching high school mathematics and my first year at West Greene. When I teach I love to move around the room and give each student as much individual attention as I am able to do.

 

Before I became a teacher I was employed as an actuary. For those of you who do not know, an actuary is a mathematician who determines the cost and financial risk of insurance products such as car insurance, life insurance, and retirement plans

 

In my free time I love hike, bike, workout and read. I currently live in Talbott, TN and I have two adult children who live in Minnesota and North Dakota.
