English III

This course is aligned with American Literature. Students will follow thematic units encompassing early Puritan settlers with texts from Hawthorne, Bradford, and Miller through Gothic literature with texts from Poe.  This course includes various written assignments, in-class and online discussions, text-based assignments, and assessments (quizzes/tests) to assess students' knowledge of this material. All questions are aligned with passages and formatted in an ACT format to help prepare students for the ACT exam in the Spring. This course is a online hybrid. Students will be required to access materials online via Canvas; however, the material will be taught in the classroom.
