Subjects Taught
English I

I graduated from South Greene High School in 2010 and enjoyed participating in several clubs. The club I dedicated most of my time to was FFA. Following my high school diploma, I went directly into Walters State Community College and graduated with an associate degree in English in 2012. I continued my education at East Tennessee State University until I graduated with a major in English and a double minor in secondary education and creative writing in 2016.

From 2010 until 2016, I performed over 900 hours of scheduled tutoring time between Walters State Community College and East Tennessee State University. Here, I focused on both group and individualized tutoring. While I helped students in several facets of English/Language Arts, my primary goal was helping students with their essay-writing skills. In 2015, I attended a Capturing Kids' Heart seminar where I became certified in an esteemed teaching and disciplinary strategy. I performed my student teaching at West Greene High School for the 2015-2016 academic school year. This will be my first official year as a licensed educator.

My love for the outdoors caused me to explore forestry, soil judging, and Envirothon in FFA during my high school career at South Greene. During the warmer months of the year, I often enjoy the exhilarating feeling of hiking, kayaking, and trail-walking. While I do foster an appreciation for the outdoors, I do enjoy binge-watching Netflix, reading a good book, writing a short story, or playing a game.
